CHOOSING YOUR SUBJECTS IN HIGH SCHOOL (ARTS SERIES)
CHOOSING YOUR SUBJECTS IN HIGH SCHOOL (ARTS SERIES)
Choosing subjects/series in high has always been a challenging step to take after succeeding at the GCE Ordinary Level. However, I believe these tips will be helpful to some of you.
No one can force you to choose any series/subjects which you won't feel at home with.
However, always consider adding English language to any ones which you choose to do.
Here are the various series we have in Arts:
A1. History, French, Literature in English
A2. History, Economics, Geography
A3. History, Economics, Literature in English
A4. Maths, Economics, Geography
A5. History, Philosophy, Literature in English
Remember: English language should not be left out.
Let no one deceive you, each of these series has great opportunities. It depends on how you utilize your potential.
Now ask yourself the following questions:
1. What do I intend to be/do in the future?
2. Which subjects, among those that I passed, will I feel more comfortable with?
3. I like this/that subject, but I didn't pass it. If I add it to my subjects, am I going to cope with it?
Do this self-examination and you'll know how to choose your subjects accordingly.
Kindly note that series are just there to guide you. You could equally choose your subjects without necessarily follow any series in particular. e.g.: you could choose to do HISTORY, ENGLISH and LITERATURE IN ENGLISH, or ENGLISH, FRENCH, LITERATURE IN ENGLISH without any issues.
